The Historical Society of Plainfield provides a variety of services to the Plainfield School District, City Charter Schools, day care centers and schools in the surrounding area. An average of 600 students annually participate in house tours and other educational activities.
The society publishes a Student Research Workbook in English and Spanish to assist students. It has also hosted such groups as The Westfield Women’s Reading Club, Plaifield Girl Scouts, Dunellen Cub Scouts Troop 89, Precious Moments Day Camp, Koinonia Academy Cub Pack, Central Jersey Arts Charter School, I Am’s Temple Christian Academy Day Camp, Star Bright Academy Day Camp and The Neighborhood House Day Camp.
The Traveling Trunk, an exhibit of artifacts and video tape of the house, was viewed by over 300 individuals at schools and at community locations, such as the senior citizen center.
